In the quaint village of Winter Park, Florida, 27-year-old reporter Serena Chang-Lopez grapples with feelings of inadequacy and depression, overshadowed by her parents' success and her boyfriend Kevin's encouragement to seek help. A routine assignment to interview the enigmatic artist Drufa Noramugis leads Serena on an unexpected journey when she encounters two mysterious men with a broken-down car, who claim to have invented a time machine.
