"The Tao of S**t" Meditations on Our Most Intimate Expletive, is meant to be a small, inexpensive humor book, suitable for adults, and will make a wonderful gift. It may be inspired by the old Price-Stern-Sloan publications from 50 years ago. With parody, satire, and jokes, this little book spoofs the many serious books that offer spiritual uplift, with its many short, poetic imitations of Zen "Koans", and with comical illustrations inspired by, but respectful of, classic Japanese and Chinese graphic art.
The hoax author is "Master Dung Ho", presented as a mythical philosopher. All of the Koans offer our modern take on ancient wisdom, using the idea that the popular allusion to human bowel movement in our Western languages most often works as a metaphor for life's challenges and changes, for psychological issues, and other problems.
Please understand that, while the actual vulgar word "SHIT" features prominently in the interior text of the phony Oriental Koans, we are careful to print it on the front cover and the back cover, only as "Sh_t", and would appear on the book spine as "S_*t", so not to offend people in bookstores and libraries. We believe that two asterisks would suffice in those cases. We want to design the spine graphic in simple block letters as
"The Tao of S**t" Meditations on Our Most Intimate Expletive
or, alternately
"The Tao of S**t", by Master Dung Ho
