Ethan travels the Red Road, led by his heart. But the truths he discovers may tear him apart. The Glade is a realm of both wonder and dread. Where the past and the present endlessly tread. Reginald, a knight, seeks justice divine. Cassandra, a stranger, walks the heart's fragile line. An army threatens the gentle peace of the glade. Shattering the friendships that have just been made. The battles will be both physical and internal. A clash between the divine and infernal. But this is more than a tale of battles-it's a journey of discovery.
The Glade weaves an epic tale of faith, doubt, and self-exploration. Using the art of poetry and vivid illustrations to navigate these complex ideas. Set in a world where beliefs are tested and truth remains elusive, It explores the fragility of hope amidst chaos and the strength found in transformation.
The Glade reveals that in chaos, transformation and hope blooms eternal. The characters known as the Scruttles first appeared in print in "Hello World" in 2015. They were created however in 2007, doodling on small adhesive pieces of paper at the job Eric was at. The Scruttles are our darker natures, always striving towards the light. Always wanting to be better than who they were yesterday. It was with this idea the first book was created. To be able to venture out into the world in spite of yourself.
The current book "The Glade", was written as a result of Eric going through the process of finding faith, but then realizing that the questions it raised and the darkness within his own experiences of cults caused him to start to dig deeper into the very notion of what these groups consider truth. He went on a still continuing quest to discover these inconsistencies, as well to try to help people escape these systems of mental enslavement. His struggles with his own trauma both before and during this process of learning as well as the love he found during it helped fashion the book you now hold in your hands. His interest in comparative mythology as well as pop culture influences are what guided his hand in the creation of this book.
The aim is to try to help lead people out of the tunnels of intellectual darkness. To figure out how their own personal stories are just as rich and vast as any ancient tale. Then by being able to do that help grow and understand the complicated thing that is called existence.
