When I Say Read, Read Volume 1 1963-1979

In 1963, a British TV show named Doctor Who began. It's still running now. In 1981, a kid named Daniel watched the second episode of the Doctor Who serial "Planet of Evil." He fell in love with the show. He's still watching now. Dan is the author of several books on TV and movies. This is a book he's wanted to write for some time. A journey through his favorite TV show, episode by episode. Traversing the decades and spanning the stories that make up the rich (and screwball) tapestry of this incredibly special show. In these volumes, Dan works his way through every broadcast episode of the show from 1963 to the present day. He reviews all the episodes from "An Unearthly Child" to the conclusion of 1979's "The Armageddon Factor." Along the way he meets four Doctors, numerous companions, and all sorts of crazy monsters and villains. We go from black and white to color. We go from epic seasons that average 40 25-minute episodes each to more manageable seasons with about 26 episodes each. And all the time, the Doctor saves the universe again and again while Dan writes about it.
