Fulk and Braden have been best friends since they were born. After their village is raided and everyone slaughtered they are left on their own to repair the pieces. They had resigned themselves to being alone forever, until a red haired girl is trapped by one of their rabbit traps.

Violet is on the run from her owner Frederick. He wanted more from her than Violet or her mother was willing to give. Her mother tells Violet to run and not look back. She doesn't know if she can trust Fulk and Braden to keep her out of the clutches of Frederick. She never expects that these boys are the ones she will choose to give herself to.
