Susan Hopewell, an attractive twenty-two-year-old, tries desperately to become a Hollywood actress. Unable to pay her bills and constantly hounded by bill collectors, she takes a job waiting tables at an old diner. Just as she is ready to give up on her dreams, she receives a call from an attorney in Harmony, Texas, notifying her of her grandmother’s passing. Being the only living relative, her grandmother named her the primary benefactor of her will, and Susan inherits an old farmhouse and a small amount of acreage.
Holly, Susan’s best friend and roommate, quits her job and makes the trip to Harmony with Susan to meet with the attorney and sign the forms. After they arrive in Harmony and meet with Mr. Martin, Susan learns that there is a stipulation in the will requiring her to live in the house for three months before taking possession. After three months, she can either keep it or sell it. A problem arises when Susan learns that her grandmother had three elderly female boarders, and if she sells the house, they will have nowhere to live. Will Susan stay in Harmony, or will she have a Change of Heart?
