SAT Math Keys and Tips

This book is intended to complement the official practice tests. This covers the math which is indispensable to solve the problems in the quantitative section of the SAT, While math textbooks are designed to be used in a classroom setting and to be covered following a curriculum that lasts a year, the SAT instead requires more logic and how the application of basic notions can get to the desired answer quickly.I wanted to put together something that could be used as a refresher course, and at same time aim specifically at the skills needed to do well on the SAT.I have been looking for the best material to help prepare students for the SAT, but found that all had their good and their unsatisfactory aspects for my needs. In order to have material in a single textbook I decided to write my own. The purpose of this book is to help the students cut to the core of what the SAT is about: seeing the logic behind the problems, so that they may be broken down into easily solvable steps. In other words, use the key to unlock the problem. The SAT problems can be solved using the formulas one has learned in school, but mot of them are set up so that if one sees the "key" in the question (or in the choice of answers) one can solve them much faster.The book goes from what numbers are to algebra, geometry, then covers quadratics, and the basic notions of probability, statistics and complex numbers sufficient to tackle the SAT math problems.The book tries to make the topic interesting and short enough that the student not find it daunting. It covers the material as succinctly yet clearly enough that the notions presented in the book can be applied to solve the problems.
