Discover the Inner Workings of the Global Sports Network

In an era when sports transcend cultural and national boundaries, The Olympic Ecosystem offers a comprehensive look at how international sports organizations come together to create one colossal platform. From a local club to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), this book unravels the complex network of associations, federations, and committees that govern global sports-and shows how their strategic decisions drive sports events worldwide.

Inside This Essential Guide, You'll Find:

Platform Perspectives: See how sports events operate like multi-sided platforms, linking athletes, organizations, and spectators. Organizational Structures: Understand the hierarchy of the IOC, International Federations (IF), National Olympic Committees (NOC), and National Federations (NF). Case Studies & Examples: Explore examples from the Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup, and leading federations in archery, football, and more. Governance & Decision-Making: Learn how non-profit associations, committees, and boards regulate, operate, and evolve through statutes, elections, and focused leadership. Event Hosting & Marketing: Delve into how host cities organize mega-events, and discover the marketing and branding strategies that drive spectatorship and sponsorship.

Ideal for Professionals in Sports Management

Whether you are a seasoned professional, an aspiring sports administrator, or an academic researcher, this book bridges crucial knowledge gaps in international sports governance. By explaining the primary structure of "participation sports" and the derivative structures of "spectator sports," the Olympic Ecosystem reveals how each organization, from grassroots clubs to international federations, plays a part in shaping the sports world.
