Spectre Code is a collection of poems written entirely in the syntax of the Python programming language. Each piece is both a functioning script and a standalone poetic expression, engaging with philosophical and metaphysical themes through algorithmic structures.
This one-of-a-kind book blends the logic of computer science with the emotional resonance of conceptual, visual, and sonic poetry. Many of the included scripts generate electronic, experimental sounds, transforming code into an audible, poetic form.
Accompanied by hand-drawn illustrations, Spectre Code bridges digital aesthetics and literary experimentation. It invites readers into a cross-disciplinary space where programming becomes poetic expression - a unique contribution to the worlds of electronic literature, generative art, sound-based poetry, and visual poetics.
The author, who works under the name C: \VEhF\, is a sound artist and experimental electronic musician originally from India and currently based in Paris. His previous works include the poetry collection Electronic Haiku and the album TENSOR%20 SHIFT (released on the HardReturn label). More about his work can be found at vehf.net.
