This work titled Assessing Pump reliability: A case study of Port Harcourt refinery was my PHD thesis at River state university of Science and technology Port Harcourt Nigeria. 2018, Unpub. it talks about the failure rate and mean time between failures of centrifugal pumps in the chemical plants. This work aim at improving the failure rate of pumps in refineries with the port Harcourt refining company as a case study. 3 pumps, 16 PO2, 16 PO3 and 14PO2 where accessed after collecting data on them from the plant record history for 3 years that is from 2017 through 2019. Proper reliability models where applied and result obtained showed the performance of each of the pumps, the result where analyzed in tables and figures, it was observed that 16 PO3 has the highest failure rate, the highest annual failure time, the highest labor and expense, the highest material per repair, the highest cost, the Pareto problems and 16 PO2 has the list Pareto problems.
