Uganda and the River of Life

Uganda has an amazing missionary heritage that reflects her mighty Nile River - she has brought life wherever she goes. Few other nations have such a rich history of working in God's mission by joining in the flow of God's supernatural River of Life. When the gospel first arrived in Uganda in 1875 (no, not is 1877!) it was received with great joy. It was also spread by Ugandan missionaries travelling by foot across mountains and by canoe across lakes.

In this book, we will explore the lives and legacies of Ugandans who were pioneers in bringing the Good News to places and people who had never heard it. We will discover the stories of Ugandan missionaries who became ambassadors of the gospel all across East Africa, into the rest of the continent, and in fact into the farthest parts of the world.
