Chris O. O. Biose was born in Idumuje-Unor, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, Nigeria, in 1944. He had his early education at St. Matthew’s Catholic School, Patriotic School and Local Authority Secondary Modern School, all in Idumuje-Unor. He received further education at the University of Lagos.

Chris Biose is a sociologist by training, a teacher by calling, a humanitarian by disposition, a human rights activist by reflex and an Awoist by political conviction.

He was at various times a bank clerk, Research Assistant at Nigerian Institute for Social and Economic Research (NISER), Ibadan, university teacher, Chairman, Bendel State Rural Electricity Board (REB), Full-time Member of Bendel State Board of Education and Commissioner, Bendel State Teaching Service Commission, Benin City.

He was also, for several years, current affairs analyst and moderator of the popular programme ‘X-Ray’ at Edo Broadcasting Service (Radio and Television), Benin City.

Chris Biose is spending his retirement from active public life in community service, mentoring young activists and writing.
