Tempest At Twilight is an ensemble of free-form poetry I wrote in my college dorm in order to breathe, so I could sleep at night. Extracted from my collection, A Maelstrom At Midnight, the aim is to encompass the evolution of relationships. Moving from the comforting embrace of family and friends to the transaction of romantic love, only to be baptised in depression. Resurfacing into self-love, confidence, and historical recognition of the patterns owned and attributed to blackness. Within this growing change, the mind wanders to wonder if the reflection speaking back to them is an expression of uplifting experiences or madness angry for change. It's the way for us overthinkers to survive.
