This book is a compilation of the countless varied emotions that surfaced within me during the pandemic. Writing became my way of healing, and through my free verse style, I express a range of raw emotions-from love, pain, anxiety, grief, nature and humanity, childhood, death, to hope, despair, and fear. They are simple, relatable, relevant, timeless and unfiltered, with elements of humour thrown in as well. During the pandemic, I questioned the point of life and human existence, wondering what it all meant, but through self-reflection, I found my way back to myself. I began sharing my writings on Instagram under the hashtag #lockdownmusings as a way of sending my words out into the universe. The idea of compiling them into a book stemmed from my desire to leave something behind for my children as a lasting memory. My hope is that my book will help guide my children, and anyone else who reads it, through moments of turmoil, self-doubt, darkness and despair, helping them reconnect with their true selves-just as it helped me navigate the chaos and uncertainty of the lockdown period. Even post-pandemic, we continue to face global challenges like impending wars, natural disasters, political unrest, and more. This work serves as a simple self-help book for anyone seeking solace and a way to deal with the challenges that we as human beings (of all age groups) face on a daily basis.
