Grammarians before Panini had named these Secondary Roots as carkarita Roots. So Panini placed this word carkarita here to indicate that the Ashtadhyayi Sutra 2.4.72 adiprabh?tibhya? sapa? applies to such ya?luganta Roots. Even though it is a Ganasutra and not a Dhatusutra, still the Siddhanta Kaumudi has given it a Dhatu Number !
