This volume allows the reader to discover the history of Palazzo Vecchio and its art by using a special key of interpretation, one which shows how viticulture, wine production and wine consumption, and trade have been of utmost importance for the lords of Florence and for the city’s government from the Middle Ages right up to the present, focusing especially on the Medici era.
