Pinocchio

Carlo Collodi’s masterpiece ‘Pinocchio’ is the most widely read fairytale, beloved by children around the world. The adventures of the disobedient puppet with a heart of gold who dreams of becoming a real boy has entered into the collective imagination, as have many other characters born from the pen and genius of the Tuscan author: the Talking Cricket, the Cat, the Fox, the Blue Fairy, and the dreaded Mangiafuoco. The imaginative and ingenious narrative inventions have inspired films and short features, songs and musicals, and personalities of the calibre of Salvador Dali. This volume, proposing an adaptation of the original text, is enriched with the splendid illustrations of Manuela Adreani, an artist of rare sensitivity, capable of capturing and elegantly transmitting all the magic and poetry of a story that has become a timeless classic. AUTHOR: Manuela Adreani was born in Rome and currently lives in Turin. After receiving her high school degree with specialization in illustration, she worked as a graphic designer before moving to the world of animation. After winning a scholarship for a Masters in Animation at the IED in Turin, she worked for Studio Lastrego e Testa on the TV series Le avventure di Aladino and Amita della Giungla, produced and broadcast by RAI, and on the short feature La Creazione, produced for the book of the same title by Carlo Fruttero. In 2011, she commenced her career as a freelance illustrator, collaborating with Benchmarck and Scholastic India.
