Literary Man: Essays Presented to Donald W Hannah

Professor Donald W. Hannah has taught English literature at the University of Aarhus for nearly 40 years, and will retire in August 1996. Friends, colleagues and former students pay tribute to Donald Hannah with this collection of essays, which spans the breadth of his own life’s work, from literary history to aesthetics and criticism, from Shakespeare and Samuel Johnson to D.H. Lawrence, Graham Greene, Jack London, Colm Toibin and Flannery O'Connor. The three parts of the collection deal with the British literary tradition, analyses of 20th-century writers and recent issues in literary theory.
