Los limites de la Fundacion, sexto libro del Ciclo de la Fundacion , es la continuacion de la Trilogia de la Fundacion o Ciclo de Trantor , la obra maestra de la ciencia ficcion de Isaac Asimov.

Golan Trevize, consejero de la Primera Fundacion, se pregunta sobre la posibilidad de la supervivencia de la Segunda Fundacion. Esta deberia haber sido destruida, segun la version oficial, agotandose asi los superpoderes mentales de los cientificos que la componian y que dirigian en la sombra los aconteceres del Imperio Galactico.

Tras una serie de intrigas politicas, Trevize se vera obligado a exiliarse en una astronave, en compania del historiador Janov Pelorat. Pero, una vez en el espacio, ambos decidiran dedicarse a la busqueda del antiguo planeta Tierra…

At last, the costly and bitter war between the two Foundations has come to an end. The scientists of the First Foundation have proved victorious, and now they return to Hari Seldon’s long established plan to build a new Empire on the ruins of the old. But rumors persist that the Second Foundation is not destroyed after all-and that its still-defiant survivors are preparing their revenge. Now two exiled citizens of the Foundation-a renegade Councilman and a doddering historian-set out in search of the mythical planet Earth … and proof that the Second Foundation still exists.

Meanwhile someone-or something-outside of both Foundations seems to be orchestrating events to suit its own ominous purpose.
