Thanks to the writings of Bartolome de las Casas modern readers may know part of the life of Christopher Columbus. Las Casas sailed for America in 1502 and resided there until he returned to Seville in 1506. Precisely in 1502, Columbus made his fourth and last voyage. Bartolome de las Casas was one of the main biographers and reporters of the adventures of Columbus. Although some historians disagree on certain details, there is no doubt that no one in his time was better as a documentarian than the Spanish Dominican friar wh had access to diaries, letters, and other official texts and documents.
