Una casa para siempre empieza con un crimen pasional -nocturno y resentido- perpetrado por un famoso ventrilocuo retirado. Pero esta no es la historia del asesinato, ni de la huida del culpable. Esta es la historia acerca de las voces que el narrador, el mismo ventrilocuo, ha tomado a lo largo de toda su vida y de como su propia voz ha quedado diluida a la sombra de todos aquellos relatos que alberga en su memoria; una historia que nos ensena como la unica casa para siempre es la ficcion.

This mosaic-like novel written thirty years ago and revisited by the author in his latest work, Mac and His Setback, is the story about the voices that a narrator has had throughout his life. In it, he narrates about the only home that is forever: fiction.

A Home Forever begins with a crime of passion -at dawn and resentful- committed by a famous retired ventriloquist. But this does not retell the story of that murder, nor of the flight of its perpetrator. This is the story about the voices that the narrator, the ventriloquist, has had throughout his life and how his own voice has been diluted in the shadow of all those other stories he harbors in his memory; a story that teaches us that the only forever home is fiction.
