With a versatile personality embracing cinema, advertising and even restaurant management, Leopoldo Pomes (Barcelona, 1931) first became known as a photographer in 1955 when he exhibited at the Galeries Laietanes in Barcelona (where the most important avant-garde exhibitions of the time were held). His exhibition broke with the traditions of photography and managed to attract both enthusiasm and outrage. Since then, Pomes has gone on to become one of the most respected and revered Spanish photographers.
