After the unexpected death of his daughter Amy, Roger Rosenblatt and his wife move into their son-in-law’s house to help care for their three grandchildren. Everyone pitches in, and Roger is assigned the only household task he is really good at–making toast for breakfast. This seemingly small act becomes an important ritual for the family, bringing them together and helping them heal.
