Artificial intelligence

We read a lot about artificial intelligence/AI and expectations are high. With the presentation of "Chatbot Chat GPT" by the company Open AI/San Francisco in November 2022, AI was registered by the public and the possibilities were highlighted and put up for discussion. Machines used to take on physically strenuous work. Today, AI takes over translations, research and complex analyses. Without autonomous consciousness, AI is a powerful instrument that can significantly damage democratic discourse (cf. deep fakes, falsification of votes, perpetuation of prejudices). AI is the machine that learns from us and not the other way around. Theoretical and practical considerations in the field of education are therefore necessary for civic education. The following considerations are based on topicality, an examination of the specialist literature in the context of civic education and exemplary participation in online training in the quaternary education sector. With regard to technological and socio-cultural developments, the study is intended as an approach to the complex topic in the context of political education.
