In this book, the reader will have access to all field and statistical procedures for constructing a regression model to determine the fresh biomass of acai palm (Euterpe oleracea Mart.) above ground level, based on allometric characteristics that are easy to obtain in the field, such as circumference at breast height, total height, and bunch size. The allometric mathematical model determined in this work was developed using multivariate statistical techniques through factor analysis with the principal component method via varimax orthogonal rotation for factor extraction. Therefore, through this statistical model, it is possible to determine the biomass of acai palm trees using only measurements obtained in the field, thus avoiding the use of destructive methods on plants.
