This article, the result of work carried out by Dr. Abdel Nacer Amoukou Issaka (lead author) and Ali Boudel Aboubacar (co-author, Master in Health Sciences Pedagogy), explores in depth the practice of the nursing approach by second-year undergraduate nursing students, an essential theme for quality of care and nursing training. Our study, carried out with students from the Damoure Zika National School of Public Health in Niamey during their internship at the Niamey National Hospital, provides concrete data and pertinent analyses of the strengths and challenges encountered by these future professionals.We believe that the results of this research will be of great interest to healthcare professionals, nursing educators and policy makers, contributing to the continuous improvement of nursing practice and education in the region and beyond. Our article highlights the importance of reinforcing the rigorous application of the care approach to optimize patient care.
