This book explores the in vitro direct and indirect methods of propagating Tinospora cordifolia in large number for the commercial production as well as conservation. Tinospora cordifolia is popularly known as Giloy or Guduchi. It is a medicinal plant and widely used in Ayurvedic system of medicine. Due to the problem of poor seed producing capacity and dependency of conventional propagation (stem cuttings) on weather conditions; there is a need to develop rapid and reliable method of propagation of Giloy. Tissue culture is the possible approach to overcome the problem. Therefore using this technique, the in vitro culture work is carried out with shoot tips, nodes, internodes, leaf and petioles as explants. The complete plantlets achieved through the use of MS and Woody plant medium supplemented with different concentrations and combinations of growth regulators as cytokinins (BAP & Kn) and auxins (IAA, NAA, IBA and 2,4-D).
