Imperfect readings... Even more critical camefrom the newspaper. In 1989, I started a literary column in the Jornal de Santa Catarina (JSC-Blumenau) in my hometown. From March to December of that year, the name of the column was Tudo Pelo Textual . In those months, Brazilian president Jose Sarney's motto tudo pelo social (everything for the social) misgoverned the social fabric of our country. That's why the play on words between the title of the column and the president's social goal was ironically affirmed. From January to May 1990, the column changed its name. It was renamed 90 itLetras. It was a reference and a tribute to the 1990s and the literary production of the decade. In the newspaper column, my reading and criticism - imperfect - focused on local, national and international literature.
