The attainable region approach was applied to reclaim Iron from Electric arc furnace dust (EAFD). A combination of Leaching and carbothermic roasting of EAFD was the main study area and parameters for reclamation of iron were obtained. The study also introduced the Kinetics of Zinc leaching from the EAFD and the thermodynamics for carbothermic roasting. The technique used in this study was based on the principle of dissolving Zinc from the EAFD at the same time allow the precipitation of Iron oxides. The Iron Oxide residue was later reduced during roasting.
