Energy from bioenergy is not only clean and sustainable but has a significant tendency to ameliorate actions that curb environmental pollution. The clean energy generated from bioenergy has provided developing countries with sustainable alternative energy and provided succour to national energy security. Nigeria on the other hand could also harness energy from bioenergy to meet its growing energy need. To shed light on the country's bioenergy potential and how it could be sustainable developed and deployed this study investigated Nigeria's bioenergy potential through an elaborate review of literature and data on bioenergy resources. It also conducted a stakeholder participatory study to explore enablers and barriers to upscaling bioenergy and biogas adoption as an alternative energy source in Nigeria. Stakeholders were identified through a critical review of national energy policies and random interviews.
