The current challenge facing metropolises in the face of social, economic, environmental and urban issues has placed the public and private spheres in a position to determine effective planning that enables a long-term vision by proposing scenarios that indicate strategic paths to benefit the city in a sustainable way. This paper proposes a methodological process of listening through the development of a workshop model that would enable the creation of prospective scenarios by the different stakeholders. Finally, guidelines are presented that can corroborate the sustainable future of the city of Recife, Brazil.
