Based on a practical case, this paper aims to show the importance of psychology in the hospital setting. Consequently, a clinical case is presented, highlighting significant facts in the patient's life. The patient is a chronic nephropath with organic symptoms that interfere with his subjectivity, and the content of the data collected is analysed using clinical listening through the psychoanalytic approach. The conclusion is that the patient's psychological care enabled him to elaborate on his issues and put his suffering into words.
