Seasonal and regional variation of water quality parameters from 13 different stations of Meenachil River was conducted. The high levels of fecal coliform bacteria, turbidity, and chloride in the water are clear indicators of contamination from various sources, including agriculture, tourism, and improper waste disposal. The rise in BOD and corresponding drop in DO highlights the extent of organic pollution, which threatens both aquatic ecosystems and human health. Immediate action is necessary to reduce pollution, improve sanitation, and protect the river's water quality before the situation worsens. Effective waste management systems need to be put in place to prevent the discharge of household, industrial, and agricultural waste into the river. Sanitation facilities must be improved to prevent the contamination of water by fecal matter. Furthermore, regulations need to be enforced to limit the impact of tourism on the river's water quality. Without such measures, the river's ecosystem will continue to degrade, and the health of people living in the area will remain at serious risk.
