Training engineers with a focus on the real needs of the market has always been a challenge for many educational institutions around the world. As a result, many of them are adopting more innovative processes to ensure that their graduates are differentiated and have complete professional, personal and interpersonal competences. This book presents and analyses the CDIO Initiative, an engineering education programme whose main foundation is to provide the necessary characteristics for excellence in the engineering professional, in which the fundamental concepts are to conceive, design, implement and operate. To this end, a survey was carried out with engineering students taking part in the Interdisciplinary Project, which corresponds to Standard 5 of the CDIO Initiative, to check the difference between expectations and perceptions during the learning process. The book provides the reader with a reflection and understanding that the practice of new teaching methodologies is essential for the complete development of a professional profile for the labour market. Happy reading!
