The ways in which work is organised have increased and become more structured over time in order to satisfy the needs of social groups. With the growing search for material comfort combined with the need for long, uninterrupted working hours in the energy production, transport and basic health and safety services sectors, the famous "24-hour society" has emerged. As a justification for this trend towards continuous production, a case study was carried out at Transpetro S.A., with the aim of identifying the characteristics of the operating technicians at the Cabiunas Terminal (TECAB), the impacts generated by shift work, as well as identifying the motivating and stress factors related to work regimes.
