Cyberactivism and collective action. An ethnography of the pedal in Quito
Andres Rodriguez Mera
This book studies the political activism of the cycling collectives Carishina en bici and Cleta endiablada through the analysis of their Facebook pages, using a methodology that integrates a quantitative and qualitative approach. Its main objective is the understanding of digital interactions as communication processes in cyberspace. Digital networks become scenarios where urban cyclists communicate to the social system the actions of their nonconformity, disagreements and political disputes.
