This book analyses the construction of femininity in printed newspapers in Manaus, taking into account a very significant date: International Women's Day. International Women's Day. In light of Discourse Analysis Theory, we seek to investigate the practices of silencing women in various spaces and how the concept of femininity is articulated around the image of women. To this end, two newspapers were selected: Jornal do Commercio and A Critica. Circulating in different spaces and reaching different audiences, we seek to understand the new social reconfigurations and the roles proposed by the actors in the game of socio-discursive relations. We therefore invite the reader to immerse themselves in the readings and analyses, reflecting on and enriching the discussion on the role of women in society.
