This book investigates the role of the contemporary art museum as a pedagogical tool, exploring how these institutions can actively contribute to formal and non-formal education. Through the analysis of three emblematic cases - the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the Serralves Foundation in Porto and the Metropolitan Arts Centre (MAC) in Belfast - various educational proposals, methodologies and cultural mediation strategies applied in museum contexts are examined. The work highlights the potential of museums to generate meaningful learning experiences, foster critical thinking and promote the active participation of the public, especially children, young people and educational communities. The study is supported by contemporary theoretical frameworks on art pedagogy, critical education and museology, proposing a reflection on the challenges and possibilities of museums in the current context.
