The search for improvements in the machining process is increasing, especially with regard to final cutting and machining procedures, such as grinding. This is because, in most cases, these techniques are responsible for guaranteeing the desired parameters in the final product, such as dimensional and geometric tolerances, as well as other output variables such as workpiece roughness and grinding wheel wear. Specifically in the field of grinding, much progress has been made with the development of wheel dressing and lubrication-cooling methods. However, all of this progress has only been achieved with regard to continuous cutting. In this sense, it is necessary to study all these parameters in the interrupted cut grinding process (workpiece with grooves), as little knowledge and/or study has been developed with this focus, since no material is found in the formal literature, except for those in which the grinding wheel is the holder of the grooves.
