How did Gabon help France? A new look at Africa

In the current context of complex relations between certain sub-Saharan African countries and France, the historical links between France and Gabon are worth examining. Although Gabon has gained its independence, its relations with France, marked by political and economic interference, remain influenced by issues linked to natural resources. Gabon now aspires to diversify its international partnerships in a multipolar world.Under the guidance of recognized specialists, I have chosen to present Gabon as an actor of assistance for France between 1945 and 2020, rather than as a former colony. This work could include briefs on the introduction of the CFA franc, diplomatic relations and analysis of the European Union in the face of Chinese challenges in Africa.Gabon is seeking to rebalance its relations with France, a process crucial to its future, especially after the Liberation coup of 2023, which revealed internal tensions and aspirations for change. In this context, the country must navigate towards greater autonomy while establishing equitable partnerships. Gabon is at a historic turning point.
