With this work, we aim to address the mystical experience as the high point of the apophatic philosophy of Dionysius, the Pseudo-Areopagite. The discussion is evidenced from an analysis of the work Mystical Theology. To this end, we present the arguments in two stages. In the first part, we follow a conceptual path on the term mysticism, starting from its basis, as well as its repercussions in history. In the second part, we seek to explain how the Absolute veils its true being in darkness and the path to a possible mystical experience. The text is the result of bibliographic research in which we seek to answer the following question: at what point does the mystic unite with the divinity? We came to the conclusion that Mystical Theology points to the apophatic path, culminating in emptiness/silence and, with that, identity with the transcendent.
