The problem of wound infection has been highly urgent in modern medicine. In many countries of the world is stated the absence of tendency to reducing the number of people with regional purulent-inflammatory diseases, which is attributed first of all to the tolerance of wound microflora to antibacterial drugs particularly to antibiotics, then to the low efficiency of the conventional therapy and the long-term periods of treatment. We selected "Armenicum" paste as for testing new effective means of wound process therapy. The effect of "Armenicum" paste on the course of a regional inflammatory process has been observed on an induced model of aerobic purulent wound in laboratory rats. The topical application of "Armenicum" paste had significant bactericidal effect. In the result of wound cleaning from the persistent microorganisms processes of complete phagocytosis were activated. The application of the paste on the wound surface was accompanied with activation of in situ processes of fibronectin synthesis. It stimulates the I and III types of collagen synthesis which was expressed in the acceleration and further differentiation of collagen fibrils.
