This publication - the first in the history of Russian science combined encyclopedia of human anatomy and physiology. The dictionary is based on the latest Russian version of International Anatomical Terminology (Moscow, 2003). The dictionary includes eponymous terms, some of them are now purely historic importance and are not included in the current nomenclature, therefore provided in accordance with Basel (1895), Jena (1933) and Paris (1955) anatomical nomenclatures. This publication includes about 50,000 anatomical, physiological, cytological and histological terms, and terms of genetics, embryology, widely used in scientific turnover and training process. The dictionary is intended primarily for young scientists and physicians, as well as for students of medical and biological departments of universities, all those interested in the achievements of modern science of man.
