St. Athanasius the Great was born about 297 in Alexandria, the virtuous Christian family. Since childhood, loving the temple of God, and he in games with peers copied church services. Children from pagan families, he talked about the Savior and, upon request, made on them baptized by the sea. These games saw the bishop of Alexandria, Alexander, and making sure the correct perform the sacrament, admitted its validity. When Athanasius reached 21 year St Alexander ordained him a deacon in the Church of Alexandria. This rank of St. Athanasius accompanied Patriarch Alexander to the Council of Nicaea (325 AD). At the Cathedral of St. Athanasius issued a rebuttal Arian heresy. After the death of Alexander the deacon of St. Athanasius was elected as his successor. Throughout his life, the saint had to keep fighting started in his youth. Arianism almost disappeared, then re-circulated. There was a time when St. Athanasius remained the only Orthodox bishop, yet others shied away from grace. More than twenty years of St Athanasius endured persecution and persecution of heretics. Repeatedly his exiled they tried to kill him… But again and again calls upon the faithful to his chair, he continued relentlessly to defend the purity of Orthodoxy. Saint Athanasius left a great spiritual heritage: numerous comments to the Scriptures, the ascetic teachings, words and conversations, letters, apologetic and dogmatic works, which defended the purity of the Orthodox Faith. When the emperor Julian the Apostate St. Athanasius was in exile in the Thebaid desert. After the ignominious death of Julian the Apostate St. Athanasius of Alexandria Church ran for seven years until his blessed repose 2 May 373 year. 10 pages of this volume has not been preserved.
