Projekte sind im Berufsleben allgegenwartig. Seit den 80er Jahren hat die Projektidee ein Comeback auch in der Schule erlebt, mittlerweile sind Projekte in den Lehrplanen verankert. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit werden zunachst Grundlagen wie Begriffsklarung, Aspekte von Projekten und ihre historische Entwicklung erlautert. Die Notwendigkeit des Projektunterrichts wird an verschiedenen Begrundungen aufgezeigt, Ziele und deren Voraussetzungen werden erlautert. Schliesslich werden Phasen eines Projekts dargestellt. Eine Analyse des Projektunterrichts anhand von Vorteilen, Problemen und Grenzen runden die Arbeit ab.
