Alexander Archipenko (1887 - 1964) is considered to have been one of the most innovative sculptors of the twentieth century: He applied Cubism to sculpture, designed movable and painted sculptures, Archipentura, founded art schools in Paris and Berlin, was involved in the Bauhaus and was one of the first to experiment with sculpture and Plexiglas.
