English summary: Any knowledge of Islam in Germany often gets as far as the entrance to the mosque and then no further, and consequently there are many unanswered questions about Islam. It is the aim of this volume to put across and make visible the diversity of moslem community work. The contributions address different questions and take different approaches, revealing the dominant concepts of Imams and of moslem women in Germany in a new light. The authors thereby take both historical and current developments into consideration. They take a look at other European countries, and at the requirements and demands for the future. This volume, which is the result of two international symposiums entitled Imams and Mosque Communities in the Integration Process: Aspects of Community Religious Education and The Role of Moslem Women in the Mosque Communities, presents an impressive insight into the world behind the door of the Mosque.
