This commemorative volume is dedicated to Oswald Loretz as Bible scholar and theologian. Oswald Loretz is not only well-known as the founder - together with Manfried Dietrich - of Ugarit-Forschung in Germany, but also for the inclusion in his extensive scholarly oeuvre of studies of various theological problems. Along with a biographical section, this volume presents five further sections that represent Oswald Loretz’s research interests: Biblical hermeneutics, the Song of Songs, Psalms, metrics and colometry, and history of religion.
