Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: In der heute zunehmend komplexeren Arbeitsumgebung der grafischen Industrie sind verstarkt Standards gefordert, um normierte UEbergabepunkte fur digitale Daten zu schaffen. Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit erlautert das Portable Document Format (PDF), was dieser Entwicklung Rechnung tragt. Behandelt werden theoretische Grundlagen zu PDF, Definitionen von geschlossenen/offenen Workflows und der beispielhafte Aufbau eines PDF basierten Workflows in der Druckvorstufe. Zu jedem einzelnen Produktionsschritt wird aktuelle Software zu dessen Realisierung vorgestellt. Abschliessend sind Beispiele zur Automatisierung solcher individuell abgestimmter Workflows aufgefuhrt und erlautert. Die Arbeit soll als Orientierungshilfe fur Anwender in der Druckvorstufe dienen, die sich diesem Themengebiet nahern wollen. Die grosse Menge derzeitig vorhandener Informationen zu PDF wurden in ihr aufbereitet und moeglichst verstandlich dargestellt.
