This action research examined current practices and organizational structures in obtaining data in relation to performance measurement and management within the Victim Services sector in British Columbia. Research in the area of performance measures and management is somewhat sporadic with limited research in the area of measures within the Victim Services sector. The literature review explored topics such as: organizational culture, performance management, and strategic planning because they all impact the implementation of such measures. The research participants were the employees from 150 programs of the Victim Services sector in British Columbia who shared their experiences through focus groups, interviews, and surveys. The findings provided suggestions and recommendations for best practices in incorporating performance measures and program evaluation tools in the Victim Services sector.
